As our clients that only drink our teas know, the objective of CHAJIN is to have the best teas that one can find in France, cultivated in the most prestigious terroirs of Japan, without any additives or blends. Since the terrible earthquake and tsunami on March 11, your kind telephone calls and emails were greatly appreciated by our farmers, by the artisans who make the utensils we sell, as well as those of us in France.
Today, the controls of our quality have been extended in order to reassure you, by testing our 2011 teas in a French laboratory certified by four French ministries (Agriculture, Health, Environment and Economy), which allows this laboratory to issue export certificates in our name. This laboratory is also certified by the COFRAC and ASN. Our certificates are available upon request. The equipment at this laboratory has equipment which can detect even 2 Bq/Kg which is the threshold at which CHAJIN tests their teas. European legislation, like the legislation in Japan, allows up to 500 Bq/Kg of cesium 134, cesium 137 and iodine 131. The 2011 crop on sale at CHAJIN has been tested. 2010 crop teas are also available.
Since every plantation and preparation factory is a potential risk for contamination, it is even more important to buy your teas from Japan from small producers like ours. In the past, you have recognized the important differences in quality between our teas and those found in the marketplace, and today you can see our certified results of non-radioactivity. Don’t hesitate to ask us questions, by email or by telephone, we are always available to answer your questions. As long as our radioactivity tests are negative, we will continue to sell and drink our finest Japanese teas.
